Learn the basics of drop spindle spinning, the precursor to using a spinning wheel. Gain hands-on experience with fiber and a drop spindle. 

Class will be held from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.

Prerequisite: None

Students must be 10 at the time of the class. Parent/guardian of students under 18 must be on-site during class time. Parent/guardian must sign up separately if they want to participate in the class.

Description

Learn how to start spinning on a drop spindle, different drafting techniques, troubleshooting tips, and be able to spin your own yarn by the end of the class.

Different styles of drop spindles will be available for you to try. Fiber and a drop spindle is included in the class fee. You are encouraged to bring your own drop spindle if you have one, as it is best to learn on the equipment you will be using at home.

This class is a Prerequisite for the Spinning Wheel Class.
