Nate – From Student to Teacher

When I started I took the blacksmithing class. I really liked the one on one instruction. Everyone was so passionate about the subject that I wanted to learn more. So another blacksmith class and I was invited to aid after. I kept growing in the art and now have become a teacher as well. Looking forward every class to teach someone else the art in which I was taught.

Celtic Love Spoon Class

In more recent years I felt a calling to learn to wood carve. I took the spoon carving class. Learned how to carve a Celtic love spoon. The instructor was once again very passionate about carving. Upon finishing the spoon I took another class on carving from another instructor (not IHEA) it was a good experience but not like I received with the instructor David. Also know as Mongo. I really enjoy the passion that the members of this group have towards their arts.

Beginning Leather Craft

The last class that I took with this group was beginning leather craft. Got to learn the basics and some more advanced skills. We made two different types of pouches in this class and I really learned a lot. The instructor was very understanding about me being a beginner even though there were more advanced students in the class. I was able to stay on track and complete one of my projects. The best thing about the class was having patterns for making future bags on my own. This is a great group and I would recommend them when looking for an new hobby.
