Blacksmithing has a long and very interesting history from the early days of horseshoeing to being “Under the Spreading Chestnut Tree” come and learn the basics that you can learn in a two-day class. No, you won’t be a blacksmith when the class is over but you will have ample opportunity to see if this hobby is for you without the financial investment of a blacksmith shop.
Students must be 16 at the time of the class to take any blacksmith class. Proof of age may be required. Parent/guardian of students under 18 must be on-site during class time. Parent/guardian must sign up separately if they want to participate in the class.

Description
Learn about forge safety, watch demonstrations and then get hands-on experience making the project demonstrated. Each student will have use of a forge and tools for the class. Instructors will be on hand to give you guidance as you work on your project.
- All classes are held outdoors. Be prepared for the weather.
- Wear all natural fibers for this class and leather shoes. Avoid loose fitting jackets.
- Bring a water bottle – smithing is hot work!
- A mid-day meal will be provided. Please let us know if you have any food allergies.
All classes are for 2 consecutive Saturdays from 8:30 am – 4:00 pm each day.
