Crochet is a fiber art that uses a hook to create fabric from loops of yarn. Crochet can be used to make everything from blankets and scarves, to hats and sweaters. It’s been positively dated as emerging back in the early 19th century and has enjoyed popularity ever since.

Class will be held from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Prerequisite: None

Age minimum: 16 years. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. (Parent/guardian does not need to register or participate in the class.)

Description

In this class you will learn how to hold a hook, create a slip knot, chain, single crochet, and double crochet. Here, students will become familiar with the basics of yarn selection as well as different crochet hooks and notions. We will be practicing these stitches by creating coasters using our newly learned skills.

You will learn the different options for holding your hook, how to control your tension, where first, last, and next stitches are as well as discussing potential mistakes.

No prior knowledge is needed and all supplies will be provided.
